There is just something about a brewery. It makes conversation easy and organic. In this case however, it was the company that made the conversation so enjoyable. Kayla and Derrick are down to earth people. And they’re an adorable couple! I was so excited when she asked if we could meet at a brewery for some pictures first. It sets the tone for a relaxing and fun evening, which is exactly what we had.

The rain ruined our first session.

But I’m so thankful because the weather for this session was perfect. We met at Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte which was the perfect setting for the “bar vibe” they wanted. Kayla and Derrick are from the Midwest and moved to Happy Valley for Derrick’s job at Penn State; however, they are getting married back in the Midwest closer to their families. We went from Axemann to a field off the interstate. Romantic, right? It was, and it was the perfect setting for the remainder of our engagement session.

It was quiet and intimate. Kayla and Derek stepped out of the car dressed like rock stars for the session.  Kayla had previously said Derrick doesn’t typically enjoy getting his picture taken, but I would have never known. Between the brewery and the field, Derrick’s eyes were locked on Kayla and sparks immediately flew. The way Kayla laughed at Derrick was like music to my ears. There is no denying that these two are a perfect pair and make an incredible team. We spent a lot of time chasing the sun. But I wouldn’t have wanted to chase it with any other couple.
