That first trip around the sun is a doozy. You never know what to expect. Other than exhaustion and some tears, of course. But when their first trip around the sun comes around, your left looking back and reflecting on just how quickly that first year goes. Every frustration, every concern and every joy seems like it came and went in the blink of an eye. And I would love to say it slows down, but my experience is that every year thereafter seems to go faster.

Frankie was playfully quiet.

And isn’t that the cutest name ever for a girl? I can’t get enough of it. Frankie’s first trip around the sun was filled with family and adventures. And a few new cousins! I know this because Karli is one of three sisters I’ve taken maternity pictures for! I truly adore their family and how close knit they are. Karli’s parents were with us for the session which was perfect because Frankie gave her grandma all the smiles.

And the adorable dogs listened the best to Karli’s dad. He was extremely helpful! When Karli asked if she could get some pictures with Frankie and the dogs, my answer was immediately yes. It wasn’t the easiest, but it was worth it! This was a simple first birthday session that I looked forward to, and I hope Frankie’s second trip around the sun is just as joyous as the first.
