A Big Family of Love

June 4, 2020

There was so much love. We’ve been in communication since December, so I feel as though I was photographing my own family. They cracked jokes. And made funny comments towards one another. They apologized for the family’s funny behavior. However, their family made me feel right at home. As if I was with my own! In the Armstrong family there is joy, and a lot of laughter. There are differences, but there is so much notable love!

We take pictures to remember.

To stop time and capture a moment and a feeling. Life can change in the blink of an eye, and everyday is a blessing. When I met with Teresa and her husband John, their son Brent and his wife Jenna back in December we talked about just that. Teresa and John wanted memories. Pictures to remember the moments with their children and grandchildren. And with each other.

The way that John and Teresa looked at each other is forever ingrained in my brain.

Their smiles so real. A love deeply intense. In that moment, I could feel the excitement. The pride in the life and family they have created. A marriage for so long, that has endured so much. One that has seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Has had the blessing of seeing children and grandchildren. Really, it is a marriage that is inspiring to me.

We met at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte on a beautiful Sunday in May. As we walked around, it was fun to watch the cousin’s play together. And listen to the adults crack jokes! Even a world-wide pandemic wasn’t stopping us from having a great time! We both created and captured memories. Timeless moments that will be shared for generations. Thank you, Armstrong family for allowing me to spend that time with your beautiful family.
