A Chilly But Perfect Wedding Day

July 14, 2021

The day was perfect. It was a little chilly for Memorial Day weekend, but nothing stopped the sun from shining on this beautiful family! The venue was stunning. Herman and Luther’s in Williamsport is a great location for a wedding. Everything is on site, and the Carriage House where everyone gets ready, is so accommodating. The day started early with some relaxing food and drinks. And when I say relaxed, I mean relaxed! Kara and Addison were already legally married, but this was the big ceremony everyone had been waiting for, thanks to Covid. So, there was no real hiding from one another which made the morning a huge celebration! For my first wedding, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to invite me to be a part of their special day.

Kara made the bridesmaid’s floral rings.

And she ordered her bouquet from Etsy. I had never seen the floral rings before in a wedding, but it was the perfect way to add flowers into the wedding! So simple, yet so elegant. And they make a great wall décor to take home. The girls got ready first. The best was saved for last: Kara. Her hair and make up was done by two wonderful women from Salon Simone. Finally, Kara’s mom helped her into her gown. When she stepped out and the girls saw her for the first time, their reaction said it all. Mouths dropped as they watched Kara step out into the room. It was amazing!

The first look is where the magic happened.

All morning they had seen each other, but once the tux and wedding gown went on, then it was time to be a part until the first look. I brought Addison out first. Then Kara. The look on Addison’s face when he turned and saw Kara for the first time in her wedding gown was pure love. The smile on his face spoke volumes to his deep love for Kara. The romance and sweet moments between these two is effortless. It makes my job a million times easier because they just so naturally fall into each other’s arms. The guests started pouring in after the first look. The ceremony was about to begin!

The bridal party walked down looking like rockstars. Last but not least, came Kara and her dad. Kara had the biggest smile on her face as she stared at Addison the whole walk down. Kara’s dad looked over at her with the sweetest smile of, “This is my baby girl.” The unity sand, with Elon in Kara’s arms, tied the ceremony together in such an intimate way. Two families have now officially become one. They each wrote their own wedding vows to each other. Now that was an intimate and beautiful moment! So heartfelt and raw. It was hard to hold back the tears!

Once the ceremony was over, the family and bridal party pictures began. I love family pictures because I love seeing the dynamic with each family member. Laughter immediately erupted with each person. It was evident that both families, apart and together, were very close-knit. Each relationship was unique and held a very tight bond. I loved seeing everyone together, laughing and living in the beautiful moment. The bridal party, however, really brought the energy. Boisterous voices and laughing was all I heard the entire time. They are a beautiful group, so they were easy to photograph. They so willingly did whatever I had asked of them, and even came up with some poses on their own!

The energy continued once inside the reception, thanks to the DJ from Nittany Entertainment. The speeches were personal and sweet, the food was so delicious, and the donut table was incredible! The donuts came from Duck Donuts, and they were all so beautifully decorated. And oh my goodness, did they taste amazing! Every detail about this wedding was thought out. Kara and her mom did a phenomenal job with the planning. When I stole Kara and Addison briefly for some evening pictures, the romance was out of this world. They quietly rested their heads on each other, obviously taking in the moment. They couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, which was perfect. I could photograph these two for days! Once back inside, the energy really kicked it up a notch. It was hard not to dance with the rest of the guests, but I controlled myself! It really was the perfect day.

I left with the biggest smile on my face because Kara, Addison and their families totally welcomed me into their family that day. It was a beautiful day, indeed. Kara and Addison, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your big day. It was perfect in every way, and I’m so thankful for your friendship. I can’t wait to see where your love takes your family. I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, romance and adventure.
