Heartbreaks and Happiness

August 7, 2021

In April of 2009, my world was flipped upside down. And I mean, flipped upside down and then shattered. The loss of Hamilton left me floundering to find happiness. But then in June of 2009, I was asked by Howard, Hamilton’s dad, to be a camp counselor at a soccer camp. Yes, I know the idea of me playing soccer makes me laugh too! But one of the campers in my cabin was Hannah. A beautiful high school girl with a soft heart. However, she was also a driving force of ambition and possessed a strong-will to succeed. She also experienced the loss of Hamilton. We connected and bonded quite easily. The rest, as they say, was history.

We kept in contact throughout the years.

Hannah graduated from high school, then an awesome college, and now she can proudly say, after years of hard work that she is a doctor! She married the sweetest man, and they are living a beautiful life together. The best part is that they are getting ready to welcome a miracle into this world. We are due days apart, which made this session even sweeter for me.

We met at the Penn State Arboretum, which was a perfect setting for this beautiful couple. Watching Hannah and Steven together was pure joy for me. I had never met Steven before, but I left feeling like I had known him for a long time. The way they make each other laugh is so effortless. It’s organic and endearing. They fit together so perfectly. And when they were holding each other close, looking into each other’s eyes, it was like sparks flying. It only took a matter of seconds before realizing how blessed this baby is to have such awesome parents like Hannah and Steven. This little one will always know a true love.

Hannah and Steven, I am beyond excited for your family! I am so thankful for your friendship, and I am looking forward to watching your family blossom as a beautiful family of three very soon. I wish you all the best in your lives, and I can’t wait to see you again soon.
