As always, we had to wait. The weather was perfect all day, but just as we drove up to the location a random shower passed through. And there was a storm supposed to come through within an hour. So, just like our last maternity session, we had to wait. I’m not sure what it is about our time together, but the rain always seems to find it’s way to where we are. But it’s kind of perfect. There is excitement in the wait. The clouds were a beautiful shade of gray with the pink sun popping through. And this family, as always, is worth the wait.

Theo couldn’t have been cuter.

He was all smiles. And all he wanted to do was clap his hands. After every picture, we stopped to clap our hands and say, “Yay!” I couldn’t get enough of it. But the best was when I was trying to get a picture of him touching Kelsey’s belly. I asked him, “Where is the baby in mommy’s belly?” thinking he would point to her belly. However, he lifted up his own shirt and pointed to his belly instead. That may actually be my favorite picture! Sweet Theo was making my heart melt into a puddle. But the end is where the magic happens.

I love waiting until the end of a session for some pictures of just mom and dad. Don’t get me wrong, I love the family pictures, but there is something so magical about quieting the chaos and capturing the time with just mom and dad. Austin and Kelsey are picture-perfect. They do the quiet moments so well. And when they do, you can feel the excitement in their love radiate. They speak so softly to one another and they parent Theo like champions. I am so thankful to have known them for so long and be able to witness first hand how strong and everlasting their love is for their family and one another.

Kelsey, once again, thanks for being so patient with the rain! You and Austin are amazing parents, and I can’t wait to see the adventure that unfolds when the newest little cutie gets here! Congratulations again and I hope to see you guys again soon!
